Intern for my award-winning writer friend!
January 20, 2010 | Filed Under UncategorizedFriends of AuH2O! Since I’ve had such great interns in the past, I told my friend I’d help him find one for this coming semester. Internships are great real-life experience, and my friend is very established (and an all around cool person), so check out this post and pass on to anyone you think may be interested!
Internship with award-winning writer
Award-winning writer of fiction, nonfiction, and humor (published by McSweeney’s, The New York Times, New York magazine, Wine Spectator, Men’s Health, Agni, ARTnews, The Threepenny Review, and many others) seeking an intern. The work will include some combination of:
-background research for a novel, a nonfiction book, and/or a screenplay;
-article pitches to magazines
-keeping a finger on the pulse of which publications are new and hot
-help with applications for fellowships/residencies at artists’ colonies
I want you to enjoy the work you’re doing and feel comfortable being creative in how you approach it. A couple of other things to keep in mind: my office is in the Village; this is an unpaid position, but I cook good lunches.
Please send me a resume, and tell me briefly 1.) why you think you would be good in this position and 2.) why you think you would have fun doing it. Also, let me know if you have a blog, website, or social-networking page that would give me a greater sense of your personality.
