VOTE for OBAMA TODAY under ROW E! And some campaigning photos
November 4, 2008 | Filed Under Politics | Comments OffSoooo, I know don’t even have to say this, but obviously go vote for Obama today. But ALSO, if you want to be really progressive (and if you live in New York) vote for him in ROW E, the Working Families Party option. He’s cross-endorsed by both parties, so it’s a vote for Obama, only a little cooler, giving support to an awesome third party that really cares about people. Check out the info on WFP here: www.workingfamiliesparty.org. My friend Danny (in photos below) used to work for them and can vouch for how worthwhile this is.
Below are some photos from my recent trips to PA to campaign for Obama. Danny and I went to South Philly two weeks ago to canvass and talk to undecided voters- they really exist! It was a slap in the face for me and my New York ass to talk to people supporting McCain for once. Also, it turns out that some people talk more than me. And they share more, too. Family crises, credit card debt, talking shit about their neighbors, everything. I ate it all up. We asked one Obama supporter if she’d like to volunteer, and she told us she’d “volunteer right down to the casino.” Ha. Oh, and we ate at Pat’s Cheese Steaks- the most racist slash famous fast food restaurant ever. EVER. Note the “Speak English” signs. Totally f’ed up.
Hershey’s, of course
Unfortunately giving our business to the most racist restaurant ever
Then, we went again yesterday to do some last minute GOTV. Another friend, Raina, came along, and I think she made it a little too much fun handing out free buttons and earrings leftover from my AuH2Obama shows. This trip was all about making sure Obama supporters knew where their polling place was (and if anyone doesn’t know, go to: www.voteforchange.com!) Note the adjacent houses that shared Halloween decorations and scare crows, but disagreed on their politics, obviously:

Raina Murphy, Danny Klein, Kate Goldwater
Alright, now I’m off to the polls to vote Obama- Row E for Working Families! Vote early everyone!
